For example

He plays against top level competition.

Marincin does not.

Marincin's advances stats are better. But who's better ?

I'd say their D have already been the most felt presence after Holtby. Big stand outs for me on the Caps side so far are:

Holtby
Carlson and Shats
Oshie diving 10x more than Kadri (Wilson about 5x more)
Williams being dangerous most shifts
Orpik being a dirtbag

Edit: More to this, you can tell how teams play the Leafs because they lack a dangerous shot on the point. They basically sit no higher than the circles in their end because they know a Gardiner or Rielly will walk in instead of let clappers go.l
